Individual Therapy

Life is a journey full of lessons which set the foundation for growth. We all experience this differently. We all show up with different strengths and limitations to work with, and sometimes a lack of awareness as to what we have to work with. Therapy can assist us with how to navigate this, evaluate where you are in the process, what your needs are, and set goals to meet your needs. The therapeutic environment provides you with a safe non-judgmental space to freely be yourself and face any discomfort with support and guidance. The therapeutic relationship will lay groundwork for you to begin to establish a healthier relationship with yourself, and have positive relationships with others. It can assist in replacing maladaptive coping skills with ones that are healthier, change reoccurring patterns that you find to be problematic in your life, or simply a place to vent as a form of self care. If you are ready to begin your journey toward a healthier you, contact me today using the information at the bottom of the page.

Individual therapy can be tailored to work on most mental health/behavioral health needs. My specializations are listed to the right of this page.

Couples Therapy

Have you found yourself questioning how you went from feeling so satisfied in your relationship to finding it challenging to simply communicate?  Are you wondering if you are in the right situation, or if somehow things have substantially changed? Couples therapy is aimed at developing a deeper understanding between you and your partner. The ultimate goal is to assist you in developing a healthy relationship and helping you to understand what it is that you are missing to allow you to productively resolve any issues that may arise. Our sessions focus on improving communication, problem solving together, taking feedback while managing defensive responses, nurturing your relationship, compromising, maintaining trust, and strengthening bonds. We will take the time to evaluate your dynamic to identify your needs and tailor a set of goals that is right for you.

Mental Health/SUD Evaluation

An evaluation is always the initial step in identifying your treatment needs. Whether you require a court-ordered and time-sensitive evaluation or are seeking a diagnosis for appropriate interventions and accommodations, I am here to assist you. With years of experience, I am equipped to evaluate a broad range of mental health and behavioral concerns and will work with you to develop an effective treatment plan that is the appropriate fit for you.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is a highly effective form of trauma-based therapy. By stimulating both hemispheres of the brain, this approach will help you process traumatic events, and properly store them away. The goal is to eliminate a trauma response. This therapy is not talk therapy, and does not require you to share details about your trauma, which is what prevents many individuals from seeking treatment. This modality places focus on the brain's natural healing process and guides you to acquire new healing perspectives. There is a lot of research supporting the effectiveness of this model. In addition to trauma it is also used to process negative belief systems relating to most uncomfortable mental health symptoms. Please reach out for further information.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a unique form of therapy that gently guides you to gain awareness of the many parts that make up your system. Have you ever seen the movie Inside Out? It’s a bit like that. By honing in on a single part of you, you will be able to gain a deeper understanding of that particular part and over time, gain greater insight into the dynamics of your overall system. We quickly learn that all parts of us have served a productive purpose in the past, however, some of them are no longer serving us in the present. This is a great way to do inner child work, trauma therapy, and specific symptom management. Many patients enjoy engaging in this modality for some self-exploration work as well. This approach has also been used to treat mood disorders and addiction. Feel free to inquire if you would like to learn more about pursuing this type of therapy.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision is an essential aspect of providing quality care to patients in the field of psychotherapy. As a licensed therapist, I provide guidance and support to other professionals looking to enhance their practice. Whether you're navigating transference issues, workplace challenges, ethical issues, or simply in need of additional support, clinical supervision provides a safe and confidential space to discuss and learn from one another. You can acquire guidance on starting your own private practice, as well as attaining supervision hours for DPH licensure and CCB credentials as well. Contact me to inquire.
